We are thrilled to invite you to the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship Summer Course, hosted by the Hungarian Dance University in Budapest, Hungary. This exciting program offers a unique opportunity to deepen your dance expertise and explore Hungarian folk dance traditions in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Course Details:
  • Location: Hungarian Dance University, Budapest, Hungary
  • Duration: 2 weeks
  • Dates: July 7, 2025 – July 18, 2025
  • Language Requirement: Conversational Hungarian or English proficiency at B1 level
  •  Application deadline: 28 February 2025 – 14:00 (CET).

Eligibility:
Please note that the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship Programme is exclusively for applicants with Hungarian roots or family ancestry.
What the Scholarship Covers:
  • Tuition-free education: exemption from tuition fees
  • Accommodation
  • Meals
  • Travel insurance: HUF 400/day contribution
About the Course:
The course is designed to support participants’ professional and methodological development.
  • Week 1: Focuses on dance technique training and the development of Hungarian folk dance material in a workshop format, tailored to participants’ prior knowledge.
  • Week 2: Participants engage in teaching methodologies through experiential exercises and micro-teaching sessions. The course also includes practical exercises in rhythm, stamina, and technical dance skills related to Hungarian folk dance.
Participants will gain familiarity with the teaching methods used in Hungarian folk dance education, emphasizing age-specific features, group management, and rehearsal planning. Differentiation of the curriculum is ensured through online tools that assess prior knowledge, and co-teaching will address the specificities of female and male dancers professionally.
