Hungarian Writer László Krasznahorkai Wins the Nobel Prize in Literature
We are proud to share that on October 9, 2025, the Swedish Academy awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature to Hungarian author László Krasznahorkai.
The committee praised his “compelling and visionary oeuvre that, in the midst of apocalyptic terror, reaffirms the power of art.”Krasznahorkai is now the second Hungarian writer to receive this prestigious honor, following Imre Kertész, who won in 2002.
The award marks a milestone for Hungarian literature and serves as an inspiration for Hungarian communities worldwide.
