Colonel Kováts crossed an entire ocean and faced down the British army on horseback. The least we can do is face down a vocabulary list. He is watching... and he expects flawless Hungarian pronunciation :) ... since he did not speak English.

Learning Hungarian vocabulary is basically like acquiring a secret military code. Plus, screaming 'Roham!' (Charge!) sounds way cooler than just saying 'let's get started on this homework.

  • Huszár (hoo-sahr) – Hussar / Light Cavalryman
  • Szabadság (sah-bahd-shahg) – Freedom / Liberty
  • Katona (kah-toh-nah) – Soldier
